To
make sure that your Windows installation is up to date;
- Launch
Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Click on Tools
- Select Windows Update
- Click on Product Updates
- Follow the instructions
to upgrade your system. You should select all updates available
under the heading ‘Critical Updates And Service Packs’.

your DirectX drivers are up to date;

your 3D graphics card drivers are up to date;
The
most common cause of problems when running new 3D applications is
due to using graphics card drivers that are not up to date.
It is very important that you obtain the latest drivers
for your system.
To
determine which 3D graphics card you have, follow these steps:
- Click
on Start
- Click
on Run
- Type
dxdiag and click on OK
- Click
on the tab labeled Display
- The
name of your card and the manufacturer should be listed.
You
can obtain the most up to date drivers from your card manufacturer’s
website.
